LTFL match versus old enemy, austrian Herbsarmy. This clan goes waaaaay back
and they have been around quite long time. We had grudge against them too but
we settled all things so now were like one happy family or something. Herbsarmy
has few finnish players also, the fiersome triplet, Dagar, Jutska and Apotex.
Herbsarmy choosed Shutdown2 as their map, definetly not strong map for us but
we had ace on our sleeve as I choosed Torch2 which is one of those maps where
we might own on sunny afternoon. We played both maps on FM server, some Herbs
were against it I guess but pings were equal and status showed no ploss on
either team.
Shutdown2 started and both teams got some touches, Herbsarmy was able to cap
first but we capped right after that. Herbsarmy offence was based on
speed as they had scouts offy. We had more DM based offence spiced with spy.
Herbs were able to get 10 - 30 lead as they had sneaky spy too coming from the
plank and our def was stacked on FR. First our offence was totally iced but
they warmed up and with few nice solo runs we got it even 30 - 30 and then we
took the lead. Defence shaped up and Herbsarmy was stopped for a while. Our offence
kept pushing and Blackout did some very nice spy action and got the flag moving
quite a lot. Credits also to other offys as they got the sentry down often. Defence
shaped up and gave only one flag at the end, meanwhile our offy had brought
six so map ended 60 - 40. Was exciting as hell
Torch2 is a nice reversed CTF map that we have played few times, always won I
think. We had normal 5 defence and 3 offence. Ameepa had the honours to midfield
and he gave some welcome greetings with +attack and +gren1 right on enemy face.
Some doods from Herbsarmy whined a bit about it, quite natural reaction I think.
However, as carriers are "allowed" to be shot on CTF maps, why it should be different
on R-CTF maps. Our strategy worked nice and we got the flag pinned several times
on defence. We gave them just enough room to touch it but DMW had good det finger
so we had no major problems on defence. There were few close calls and they were
able to cap at the very end. DMW's and ZaRaK's FAULT I think as I was resupping
for just few grens. Offence started slow but were able to torch the flag for six
times total. We had few good laughs at voicecoms, mainly as we had some superspam
action and I was on fire with the hunting rifle. Herbsarmy offence started to shoot
arro and Blackout, who fired back *no nuts* Some guy accused Gunni for backtracking
tho he was deffing all the time on deck :E
Herbsarmy had good moments on Shutdown2 but we were able to rise from muds.
Torch2 was more or less piece of cake for us as they admitted that they had
not played that map at all. GG Herbsarmy, our star players today were
Blackout and DMW so gratz to you too.
